A Three Roll Plate Rolling Machine (also called a 3-Roll Bending Machine) is a sheet metal forming machine used to roll and bend flat metal plates into cylindrical or conical shapes. Its widely used in metal fabrication, boiler making, shipbuilding, and pressure vessel industries.
The machine has three rollers arranged either in a pyramid (one top roll, two bottom rolls) or initial pinch configuration.
The top roll presses the plate while the two lower rolls rotate, pulling and bending the plate.
By adjusting the roller positions, the plate gradually bends into the desired diameter.
Initial Pinch Type
Top roll fixed, one lower roll adjustable.
Requires plate to be pre-bent before rolling.
Best for thin to medium plates.
Pyramid Type (Double Pinch)
Both lower rolls adjustable.
Can perform pre-bending and rolling without taking the plate out.
Suitable for thicker plates.
Can roll cylinders, cones, and arcs.
Simple operation and robust design.
Suitable for medium to heavy-duty fabrication.
Lower cost than 4-roll machines.
Manufacturing tanks, boilers, silos.
Shipbuilding and marine industry.
Aerospace and automotive exhaust systems.
Structural fabrication for pipes and cones.
